Cookie Policy
Last updated: July 1, 2026
This page lists everything YakSocial stores in your browser on our own websites. The short version: only what is strictly necessary to run the site — no advertising and no third-party analytics trackers. Because we use no optional cookies, we do not show a consent banner.
Cookies we set
- Session cookie (essential) — keeps you logged in and protects forms against cross-site request forgery. Also carries the short-lived state nonce used during the OAuth flow when you connect a social account. Deleted when your session ends.
Local storage
- Theme preference — remembers your light/dark/system choice. Stored in your browser's local storage, never sent to us.
Connected networks
When you connect a social network or publish to it, that network may set its own cookies in the browsers of people who view your posts or your link-in-bio page. What those networks store is governed by their own cookie and privacy notices; our role is described in our Privacy Policy.
Managing cookies
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the essential session cookie will prevent logging in and connecting accounts.
