Data Deletion
Last updated: September 2, 2026
You can remove your data from SocialYak at any time, without contacting us. This page explains how, and what happens to each kind of data.
Disconnect a social account
Sign in and go to Connections, find the connected account, and choose Remove. This permanently deletes that connection and the encrypted access and refresh tokens stored with it. SocialYak can no longer read from or publish to that account.
You can also revoke SocialYak's access from the network's own settings — for example Facebook and Instagram under Settings → Apps and Websites, LinkedIn under Settings → Data privacy → Permitted services, or your Google Account under Third-party apps & services. Revoking there stops our access immediately; removing the connection here also deletes the stored tokens.
Delete posts and scheduled content
Drafts, queued posts, and analytics for a connected account are removed when you delete the account connection. Individual posts can be deleted from the calendar or post list at any time. Content that has already been published to a social network lives on that network — delete it there.
Delete your whole SocialYak account
Email support@yakware.com from the address on the account and ask us to delete it. We remove the account, its connections and tokens, its posts and media, and its analytics within 30 days, and confirm by reply. Records we are required to keep for tax or accounting purposes — invoices and payment records — are retained for the statutory period and are not used for anything else.
What we never keep
We do not store your social-network passwords: connecting an account uses each network's own OAuth login, and we only ever hold the token it issues, encrypted at rest.
